Icers Fall to #5 Elmira, 7-0

Elmira College showed why they are the fifth-ranked team in the nation Saturday, blanking Lebanon Valley College 7-0 in an ECAC West game at Hersheypark Arena.

The Dutchmen (0-8-0, 0-4-0 ECAC West) were outshot 45-13 by the Soaring Eagles (5-2-0, 4-2-0 ECAC West).

Elmira was led by a hat trick from Albert Mitchell and a goal and an assist by Rusty Masters and Jan Velich.

The Eagles went up 3-0 in the first on goals by Masters, Andrew Wilcox, and Mitchell, then extended their lead on Velich's second-period goal before Mitchell put one in shorthanded to end the period.

Brendan Sanders and Mitchell finished the scoring with third-period tallies.

Aaron Miller made 38 saves between the pipes for LVC, while Kevin Bolin picked up the shutout with 13 stops.

LVC will head to Manhattanville College next Friday night.
