period
before allowing two more goals in the third period.

game
capitalizing on a Castleton turnover in the attacking zone. Nani
Jacobs
played the puck from the right boards to Navas in the center of the
ice,
who sent a wrist shot to the lower left right post past
Castleton
goaltender Kalla Robb for the 1-0 lead. The Huskies scored their
second
goal less with than four minutes remaining in the first period.
Alyssa
Gibson deflected a Jessica Knight standing just outside the crease
for
her first goal of the season.

in
the second period to cut the Huskies lead in half. Maryanne Diehm
took a
pass off the right boards and drove the net forcing a 2-on-1
opportunity
for the Spartans. Diehm had the puck knocked away but Gray was
there to
put the puck just inside the near side post for her second goal of
the
season.
Southern Maine scored the insurance goal five minutes into the
third
period on the power play. The Huskies had a 2-on-1 opportunity on
the
breakaway. Jana Sacco sent a cross ice pass to Katie Paradis who
shot
the puck over Robb's glove-side shoulder for her third goal of
the
season. Four minutes later, Christen Hart scored her first
collegiate
goal off a rebound to round out the scoring.
