FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The NCAA Divisions I, II and III Men's Lacrosse Championships took place this weekend at Gillette Stadium with the ECAC along with Harvard, the Kraft family and staff serving as hosts for the second straight year.  The event ranks fifth in men's lacrosse championship attendance history as the weekend drew a total of 126,673 fans.

Monday's Division I championship game between Syracuse and Cornell was the sixth-highest attendance for an NCAA title game with 41,935 spectators.  Sunday's Division II and III championship games drew 24,072 fans, good for second all-time.  There were more than 200 credentialed members of the media with all five games airing live on national television.

On Monday, No. 2 Syracuse captured its second straight national title and 10th overall with a 10-9 overtime victory over No. 5 Cornell.  The game was shown live on ESPN. The Orange held off No. 3 Duke, 17-7, Saturday to advance to the championship, while the Big Red tripped up No. 1 Virginia, 15-6, to earn a spot in the title game.

On Sunday, Cortland State won the Division III national championship after holding off Gettysburg, 9-7. C.W. Post took down previously undefeated Le Moyne, 8-7, to claim the Division II title.

The 2010 and 2011 championships will be held in Baltimore, but will return to Gillette Stadium in 2012, as once again the ECAC and Harvard will serve as the tournament hosts.
