Salem State wins 2006 ECAC Division III New England Men's Golf Championship

BELLINGHAM, Mass. - Salem State College captured the ECAC Division III Men's New England Golf Championship which was held this weekend at the New England Country Club in Bellingham, Mass.

UMass Dartmouth shot a two-day total of 622, finishing second, one stroke behind the Vikings.  Corsairs junior, Kyle Pelletier (Acushnet, Mass.) earned his first win of the year.  Pelletier shot a 72 for a 36-hole total of 147, allowing him to finish as the medalist, one stroke ahead of Babson's Travis DeWire.

UMass Dartmouth finished two strokes ahead of Babson. Castleton State was fourth at 630 and Springfield was fifth at 635 in the 17-team field.
