St. John Fisher College Wins ECAC Upstate Golf Championship

The St. John Fisher College men's golf team completed a wire-to-wire first place finish, their best of the season, on Sunday in the ECAC Upstate Championship held at the Blue Heron Hills Country Club in Macedon, NY.

Fisher shot a combined 315 on Sunday for a two-round total of 623, five shots ahead of second-place SUNY Potsdam (628), and 10 shots ahead of Empire 8-rival Elmira College (633).

Brady Yates was the Cardinals top performer with a combined 153 (+11) after shaving three strokes off of his opening-round score for a 75 (+4) on the final day. John Gerber fired an 80 for a combined 157, while Eric Koehler turned in an 81 for a total of 158.

Kyle McArdell (160) shot 84 on Sunday, while Greg Church (166) trimmed an impressive strokes from his Saturday score to record a 79 in the championship round.

Fisher will tee off in the Nazareth Fall Invitational next Monday.
