Williams Captures 2007 ECAC Division III Men's Cross Country Crown

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams men's cross country team won
the 2007 ECAC
Division III Men's Cross Country Championship at Mt. Greylock High
School, making it three consecutive victories in the event.
Williams posted a score of 45 points - 51 points ahead of
Keene State, which finished second out of the nearly 40-team field
with 96 points. Oneonta took
third place with a team score of 126.
The race lead was exchanged multiple times among athletes from
several teams, but St. Vincent's
Wayne Hooper and Adam Smith separated themselves from the pack
towards the end. Hooper
was first to cross the finish line on the 8k course, in a time fo
26:14. Smith came in at 26:17, and
Alex Grout of Oneonta finished third with a time of 26:27.
Led by fourth place finisher Aaron Schwartz, Williams had all of
its seven runners in the top 25.
