ECAC and Commerce Bank to Co-Sponsor Division II Men's Basketball Classic at Caldwell College

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and Commerce Bank have partnered to co-sponsor the ECAC/Commerce Bank Classic, which will be played in the George R. Newman Center on the campus of Caldwell College, December 22 and 23, 2007.
The 2007 ECAC/Commerce Bank Classic will feature four men's basketball teams from Division II. Caldwell College and Dominican College from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference will be taking on a pair of Northeast 10 Conference schools in Franklin Pierce University and Southern New Hampshire University in the event.
"We are pleased to have the ECAC involved with our tournament this year," said Mark A. Corino, Caldwell's Executive Director of Athletics and head men's basketball coach. "Under the leadership of new ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling, it is great to see a renewed commitment to events like this. These tournaments benefit our student-athletes and also increase the visibility of our institution and our athletic programs. We are honored to be affiliated with the ECAC."
Caldwell College joined the ECAC, which includes 321 NCAA
Division I, II and III colleges and universities, in 2004. This
fall, Corino was selected to serve on the ECAC's Board of
Directors.
"The ECAC is excited to partner with Caldwell College and Commerce
Bank to host this tournament," said Keeling, who became
commissioner of the ECAC in May of 2007. "It has always been a
first-class tournament and we hope our involvement will help to
make it the top Division II tournament in New Jersey."
