CAPE COD, Mass. - The ECAC is pleased to announce that in conjunction with Disney Sports the conference will be hosting its Second Annual ECAC Holiday Festival in two separate sessions; December 20-24, 2009 and January 1-5, 2010. The event will feature 12 Division III men's and women's basketball teams, all from regions within the ECAC membership. The festival will honor four champions, and a student-athlete from each tournament bracket will be recognized as the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

In the December session, three men's teams will compete in a round robin style tournament format for the Holiday Festival title. SUNY Institute of Technology, SUNY Oneonta, and Wheaton College will face off in the Milkhouse Arena® at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. 2009-10 ECAC Holiday Festival December Session Bracket

A little over a week later, the January session gets underway with nine men's and women's teams battling it out on the hardwood. Three men's teams and six women's teams will take part in three-team round robin tournament brackets throughout the week. UMass Dartmouth, Wesley College, and Ramapo College round out the men's teams that features a morning opening tip-off game on January 2nd between Ramapo and the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth. Colby College, Connecticut College, Farmingdale State, King's College, SUNY IT, and College of Staten Island make up the three women's brackets for the tournament. 2009-10 ECAC Holday Festival January Session Bracket

Teams participating in December will be staying at the luxurious Buena Vista Palace Spa and Hotel which is directly adjacent to Downtown Disney, and just a short ride away from Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex®. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort® will host the nine teams visiting Florida for the January session.

Spectators, friends, and family members are also welcome to purchase a package deal offered by Disney and the ECAC. For the December session, spectators will be staying at the Buena Vista Palace while January spectators will also have the option of staying at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort®.
