Ursinus College Claims 2008 ECAC Division III Women's Gymnastics Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Behind the second- and third-best All-Around performances from Brianna Morrissey and Kira Oldham-Curtis, Ursinus College won the 2008 ECAC Division III Women's Gymnastics Championship, held on the campus of Springfield College. Ursinus finished the day with a total score of 187.675, good for a 0.500 margin of victory over SUNY Brockport (187.175). SUNY Cortland finished nearly a point below Urinsus, taking third place out of the eight-team field.
Morrissey and Sohpia Harrison of MIT were named Co-Gymnasts of the Year, while Kailee Spusta of Ithaca was honored as Rookie of the Year. Harrison was tops in the Uneven Parallel Bars, and edged Morrissey by 0.025 for first in the All-Around with a final total score of 38.275. Spusta scored a 9.600 on her Floor Exercise, finishing in a tie for eighth.
SUNY Cortland's Gary Babjack was recognized as the Coach of the Year. Jillian Silverman of Springfield and Susie Taylor of Rhode Island College were tabbed Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year.
