Towson University Captures Fourth Consecutive Title

Williamsburg, Va. - The Tigers of Towson University edged the University of Rhode Island by 1.725 points to earn their fourth consecutive ECAC Division I Women's gymnastics Title at the College of William & Mary on Saturday, March 25.

The Tigers earned scores of 48.550 on vault, 48.300 on bars, 48.525 on beam and 48.575 on floor for a total score of 193.950.  The University of Rhode Island claimed second place with scores of 47.825 on vault, 48.025 on bars, 47.850 on beam and 48.525 on floor for a total score of 192.225.  Cornell University earned third place with a total score of 192.075.  The Big Red earned 47.875 on vault, 48.450 on bars, 47.650 on beam and 48.100 on floor.

Towson's Annukka Alemnoksa (Turku, Finland) finished with a total score of 39.150 to earn the gold in the all-around.  Alemnoksa also earned gold on the beam with a 9.925.  Towson's Alise McDonald (Woodstock, Md.) claimed gold on vault with a score of 9.850.  Stevie Waldman of The College of William & Mary earned gold on the bars with a score of 9.825.  The University of Pennsylvania's Marissa Rosen earned gold with a 9.900 on floor.
